Level 6 - Professional Diploma in Arboriculture
Introduction
Development of the Professional Diploma in Arboriculture started in
the late 1960’s under the guidance of the Royal Forestry Society and
has been over the years the premier qualification in arboriculture
regarded in the highest esteem by the industry. It has been available
nationally to those with experience in arboriculture.
Candidates are those aspiring to become senior tree officers
employed by Local Authorities, consultants and also wishing to attain
membership of professional bodies e.g. Institute of chartered Foresters
and the Arboricultural Association. ABC has worked closely with the RFS
in the redevelopment of The Professional Diploma at Level 6 for
inclusion on the National Qualifications Framework. This qualification
provides important Continued Professional Development opportunities for
those involved in the industry.
Course Content
· Management of Tree
Health and the Identification, Prevention and Control of Disorders.
· Management and
Organisation of Tree Care Operations. Modern
· The Processes of
Selection, Purchase, Handling, Planning and Planting Trees.
· Management of Amenity
Woodlands, Veteran Trees and Habitat Conservation.
· Tree Biology and
Management of their Environment.
· Tree Management and
Maintenance.
These will be assessed either in the written examination and/or
management exercises.
